My daughter attended Centrepointe Childcare Services’ Nursery School and looked forward to seeing her teachers and friends every day! The Nursery School provided a safe, secure and fun first introduction to school, which provided a smooth transition to full-day junior kindergarten.
Mom of 3-year-old

The Nursery School is a part-time, early learning environment licensed for 20 preschool children ages 2.5-5 years. This Nursery School program focuses on socialization (cooperation, sharing and making friends), is supported by pre-reading (shape, colours and letter recognition) and pre-math skills (number and shape recognition) and is delivered through play-based activities. Based on Canada’s Food Guide, a healthy snack will be provided for your child(ren).

Our afternoon program differs from our morning program as it has only one Early Childhood Educator, an RECE, and hosts only 8 children. The smaller number will allow for some more in depth learning opportunities but will require more independant play skills. A discussion with our RECE, prior to registration, will help to determine whether this program is the best fit for your child.

What we believe – our philosophy

Children learn best in a play based environment.

  • We embrace the document How Does Learning Happen? as the framework to guide our program.
  • The goal of the program is to offer structured and unstructured activities and opportunities for play that teach children about themselves, others and their environment.
  • We strive to assist the child in developing a healthy self-image
  • Our main objective is to prepare the children for the next step in life by offering challenging and safe learning activities based on individual developmental needs.

Children learn by doing

  • The nursery school environment evolves to offer new challenges and opportunities as your child develops and acquires skills and interests.

Who we are – our team

Our staff is dedicated to nurturing and guiding your child in our welcoming learning environment. Our teaching team consists of two experienced educators: one Early Childhood Educator (RECE) and one Early Childhood Assistant (ECA).
