Our EarlyON program

Centrepointe receives funding from the City of Ottawa to provide an EarlyON centre for families, caregivers and children 0-6 years of age. Our centre offers a range of programs to enhance healthy early learning development based on the “How Does Learning Happen” pedagogy.  Our centre provides a space for learning, networking, play, resources, support and community.

Centrepointe EarlyON programs will provide opportunities to experience play-based learning in’

  • sensory play
  • creative play
  • Art
  • music and movement
  • outdoor experiences
  • language and literacy

Our program curriculum is based on emergent curriculum model; this means the staff will base the learning and environment on the interests and developing skills of the children who attend our centre.

STEM/STEAM learning is very important because these five disciplines are used in everyday activities. They promote problem solving, and creative and analytical thinking. … For this reason, among others, it is never too early to begin introducing STEAM learning to your child.  Children who study STEM also develop a variety of skills that are essential for success: critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship, to name a few.
