Our EarlyON program:
Centrepointe receives funding from the City of Ottawa to provide an EarlyON centre for families, caregivers and children 0-6 years of age. Our centre offers a range of programs to enhance healthy early learning development based on the “How Does Learning Happen” pedagogy. Our centre provides a space for learning, networking, play, resources, support and community.
Centrepointe EarlyON programs will provide opportunities to experience play-based learning through:
- Sensory play
- Imaginative play
- Technology and construction
- Arts and crafts
- Music and movement
- Language, literacy and numeracy
- Science and nature
- Active play
What We Offer
Centrepointe EarlyON Child and Family Centre is for families, caregivers and their children. Our free services include:
- Support, resources and referrals: Early years specialists available on-site, by phone or e-mail to answer your questions or refer you to appropriate resources.
- Playgroups: We offer programs for parents, caregivers and their children where early learning activities, support and networking can take place. Allows space to become part of the Centrepointe community. Pre-registration is required.
- Toy Library: A wide variety of toys for children 0 to 5 years of age available for loan free of charge. Let your children explore different toys and interests without the cost. Donations are always accepted of toys for children 0-5 years. We have toys in the following areas: gross motor, fine motor, construction, imagination, games, active play, puzzles, felt boards and more. By appointment only.
- Workshops: We offer workshops on parenting, early childhood development, attachment, infant mental health, pre & postnatal services, and other related topics. Workshops are based on research and evidence based practices.
CCS EarlyON uses a digital sign in system that provides parents a quick and simple way to sign in at any EarlyON centre across Ontario. You can find out more online at KeyON. We have key tags here at CCS to sign you up on site. (You will need to register for a key tag, even if you have registered at the KeyON website.)
